" A showcase of the more obscure side of Austria’s capital "
BIBIZA is a rising star in the Austrian music scene, moving between rap, post-punk, trap and indie rock. In the relatively short time since his debut in 2018, the musician has released four albums, showcasing his unique style and sound.
BIBIZA’s latest releases are heavily influenced by Viennese greats like Falco, and contain numerous references to the city in the lyrics. The Viennese dialect, to which he turns more and more in his newer songs, adds another layer to his distinctive style. His music is an ode to the vibrant culture and lifestyle of Vienna – the one that is not necessarily featured in travel guides – with a focus on lust, hedonism, excess, alcohol, and drugs.
BIBIZA’s music has resonated with fans both in Austria and beyond, as he explores themes that are relatable to young people around the world. His focus on excess and self-indulgence may seem controversial to some, but it also speaks to a larger societal trend of people seeking to escape from the stresses of daily life. His music provides a form of escapism that is both cathartic and empowering.
Despite his relatively short career, interrupted heavily by the pandemic, BIBIZA has already gained a reputation as a dynamic and charismatic performer, and his live shows are known for their energy and excitement. In October 2023, he is set to embark on a tour in Germany and Austria, aptly called “Wiener Schickeria” – a term that can be loosely translated as “Viennese poshness”. The tour promises to present his singular sound and electrifying live performance.
BIBIZA’s collaborations with other artists have helped to elevate his profile and prove his versatility as a musician. His work with Mavi Phoenix on the track ‘?!’ showcases his ability to blend his atypical German rap with Phoenix’s lyrics in English. He has also collaborated with Ski Aggu on the track ‘Kosmonauten’ and founded with Eli Preiss and others the artist collective ‘Swift Circle’ that is noteworthy due to its focus on collaboration and support rather than competition – a notion we admire wholeheartedly!
