High-energy funk garage rock

" A small-town power trio that sound like rock legends "

If categories are always unfair to artists, they are even more unfair to Mother’s Cake, a band from a small town in the Austrian Tyrol that consistently defy expectation with their genre-bending sound, sometimes up to three or four times in one song. Imagine an entire album. Is it funk rock? Is it metal? Garage? Psychedelia? Where do these electronic vibes come from? And the soul, the blues rock, the hardcore? But despite this disparity, there is an invisible glue that holds everything together and it ends making perfect sense.

We could go crazy looking for what this invisible mortar is, but everything suggests that it is nothing more than the intoxicating energy generated by these three incredible musicians playing as one. Their albums capture the kind of electricity that we only recognize in a few great bands in music history, and that’s why Yves Krismer (guitar, vocals), Benedikt Trenkwalder (bass) and Jan Haußels (drums) can promise without fooling anyone that their shows unleash an unprecedented fury, far beyond the typical concert experience.

And to prove that they don’t need further definition, they let the audience describe them. Some compare them to Led Zeppelin, others put them somewhere between Jimi Hendrix and Rage Against The Machine. They have a few records to prove that none of this is a lie, but that it’s not the whole truth either. It doesn’t really matter: once you’ve listened to them, the only obsession will be about seeing them booked in your city.
