" Sweet little tears in the form of songs "
The great virtue, the great talent of Natalia Lacunza is her voice. But I’m not only referring to her voice as a musical instrument, I also mean her voice as an artist and as a human being: everything she says, how she says it and, especially, that she says it at all.
Appearing on and then emerging from a famous television talent show has proven more of an inconvenience than a virtue, but with her talent, Lacunza is dismantling prejudices. And we return to her voice, beautiful as the drops of dew on a February morning and sweet as cotton candy, but between the nuances is where her splendor arrives. Her voice is always at the service of the song and not the other way around: her pop with electronic overtones is something more than the straightest form of Bedroom Pop. Her music is ethereal, and her lyrics tell us about great love problems with an almost childlike banal air as in her songs ‘Cuestión de Suerte’ or ‘Todo Lamento’ that tugs at the heartstrings.
Her collaborations with artists from other genres are brilliant and surprising, such as the trap of ‘Quiero Dormir Contigo’, with Trashi, the indie rock of Cariño in ‘Modo Avion’, or the flamenco of Guitarricadelafuente in the precious ‘Nana Triste’. The chrysalis is about to explode, and when she does, her musical beauty enchants us all. Her lyrics hit the nail on the head, and those songs fill the rooms of many young people who do not quite understand this world yet, helping guide the way.
