" A colourful and infectious blend of electro pop "

NOËP is the one-man project of Estonian multi-instrumentalist, songwriter and producer Andres Kõpper, known for crafting bright and peppy electro-pop melodies. He released his first track ‘Move’ in 2015, and since then he’s notched up a series of engaging live performances at international festivals including Flow, Positivus, Waves and Europavox, and attention grabbing shows in Musee d’Orsay, Beirut and Shanghai. In doing so, he’s grabbed the attention of music fans and industry pros outside his country, throughout Europe and beyond. Armed onstage with a laptop, keyboard and launchpad, he delivers his signature blend of layered indie pop and soaring electronica, with wobbly basslines and catchy beats.

During the Estonian Music Awards 2022, in addition to the Male Artist of the Year and Pop Artist of the Year categories, NOËP, who received four awards, also won the Debut Album of the Year and Album of the Year, for ‘No Man Is An Island’, out via Humming Records. His debut long-play is inspired by humanity, and its current situation with the climate crisis and other environmental and social challenges.  NOËP’s colourful sonic palette informs the entire album, bringing together a fusion of sounds and citing influences from the likes of alt-J, The Blaze, Chet Faker, and Passion Pit. Each song stands out from the next, veering from uplifting (like the catchy ‘Kids’ with Emily Roberts) to more vulnerable (‘Numb’) and introspective moments (the lyrics “Virus is taking them down/ Holy creatures in crowd” in ‘Virus’ leave you with a sigh). It’s a rich debut and wonderfully moody, and NOËP at his best, especially when he pumps up the volume.
