Crossbreed Urban Rap

" The perfect example of how rap can change the world "

As a Barcelona native I feel proud of a band like Tribade. They’re a band that spits truths in the face of society, and even manages to intimidate you, make you think, and above all, make you realise that there are many things that need to change in ourselves and, by default, in today’s society. With his fresh combative rap, and with one foot in the classic old school and the other in the future, in the cultural mix and in that slum atmosphere of the most rogue side of Barcelona.

Their music is a melting pot of influences as rich as it is stimulating, where everything fits, from flamenco and rumba to hardcore rap or new wave urban sounds. Their lyrics, and above all the way they plant them in your face, are their great success. Tribade’s words are combative, feminist and denounce all those scourges that have yet to be erased from the world of music, as well as from society. They don’t shy away from any fight, and they attack everything that seems unfair to them, and the truth is that they often feel like they get it right.

Politics and monarchy, machism and the frivolity of the rap world, the glass ceiling that women have to break and a long list of other topics all feature. Aesthetically, they also stand out, as both their staging and their clips are groundbreaking and risky, but in line with a discourse that is as successful as it is coherent. Having just released their second full-length album ‘Dyke’, they are ready to continue conquering Europe and gaining followers in every new city or festival that gives them a chance.
