Imagine a wild animal in Iceland, picture a wolf living in the cold and dark woods, drinking water in ponds and lakes, howling at the moon. That can be a way of looking at Úlfur Úlfur’s : a pack of wolves, working like a cohesive family unit, that hunt together and can shred the flesh of another animal with a bite. 

For the last 15 years, they have been working hard on their game. Coming from a small town in northern Iceland, Arnar Freyr Frostason and Helgi Sæmundur Guðmundsson always made music that sounded more than your ordinary rap act. Some tracks bring a really dark and gloomy vibe (‘Tempo’), but others are bright and joyful, almost pop-like (‘Þú hér’). Some are full of 80’s references (‘Annar Vetur’), while others just want to shake the floor and bounce (‘Mávar’). This is a weird balance between a pop appeal that makes their songs somehow easy to listen to, and an experimental sound that goes a bit further as they rap in Icelandic. Their lyrics are about some strange things like seagulls on the streets of Reykjavík, but also about putting on a leather jacket, jumping on a bike and driving across the long roads of their home country.

Just like wolves (just to let you know that Úlfur means wolf in Icelandic), the duo embraces family and friends, but is also fearless and ready to attack. This rap duo gave their name a real reputation being considered by local media one of the best rappers and producers in the game. Can’t wait to see this pack rapping around Europe.
