The France-Portugal Season will take place between February and October 2022, and will highlight the closeness and friendship that bind our two countries. The historical and contemporary ties that unite France and Portugal reflect a convergence of values: a commitment to peace, democracy and a common vision on the future of Europe.
With its focus on modernity and movement, this cultural season will give free rein to creativity and daring, innovation and the expression of desire for change, and will invite French and Portuguese youth to engage in dialogue.
Europavox is proud to be part of this project and to participate in the programming of the Season with two major events:
The Ocean Tour
The Ocean Tour, to highlight our common ocean, will feature a mixed artistic line-up of Portuguese and French artists, who will travel for a week through cities located on the western French coast of our common ocean. The artists will perform in Brest, La Rochelle and Bordeaux to deliver a message of cultural diversity, in May 2022.
Throughout the tour, a sailboat will be the setting of a shared experience mixing creation and travel, chronicled via an online video diary. Mixing performances, interviews and backstage access, this Journal will be orchestrated with Europavox’s cosmopolitan team of journalists.
Associations working for the protection of marine ecosystems will also be part of the voyage, to present their activities and what is at stake, as well as ideas for practical actions to implement in order to get involved.
The Ocean Tour will take place at Brest on the 25th of May, at La Rochelle on the 26th of May and at Bordeaux on the 28th of May with performances of Papooz (FR), Xinobi (PT) and Blu Samu (PT) !
Portugal will also be the guest country of Europavox festival 2022
For its 16th edition, the Europavox festival will feature Portugal as a guest country. Like a red thread at the heart of the celebration, Portugal’s artists and culture will be represented throughout the festival site, which will welcome 50,000 festival goers to Clermont Ferrand. Built in collaboration with Portuguese partners, the programme will offer all festival goers the opportunity to immerse themselves in today’s cultural diversity for a weekend, with a selection of young Portuguese musical creations on the festival stages; street art performances, screenings of short and full-length films, and artistic happenings; and a selection of Portugal’s gastronomic heritage as part of Europafood. Portugal will also be featured on Europavox.com media, which will present interviews, artists, news and original guides put together by European journalists.
The festival runs from 30 June to 3 July 2022, more information to come on the festival website
