Follow the guide : Bad Daughter's best spots in Zagreb

Europavox Festival Zagreb is fast approaching: on the 15th and 16th of November, shame (GB), MNNQNS (FR), Vizelj (RS), DIVES (AT), Pom Poko (NO), Lucy Kruger & the Lost Boys (DE), čuvarkuća (HR) and Ada Oda (BE) will perform in Croatia! But what can you do during the afternoon while the Mochvara Club is getting ready for an evening of rock shows? Bad Daughter, an awesome Zagreb-based pop artist who played the festival last year, has shared her favorite places to hang out, feed ducks, have a beer or eat local delicacies in the Croatian capital. Follow the guide!

Museum of broken relationships

If you ever find yourself in the vicinity of the Museum of Broken Relationships, you absolutely HAVE to check it out. It’s not your typical museum – it’s a journey of the heart, a global collection of heartbreaks. People from all over the world have contributed their mementos, so every item on display has a story, a personal tale of love and loss.

Maksimir

Set aside some time to explore Maksimir Park. It’s a perfect place to get away from the city noise and reconnect with yourself and nature; a little green paradise right in the heart of the city. And don’t forget to bring some bird seed mix to feed the ducks. You don’t want to piss off the ducks.

Bekal

If you are looking for food that is absolute FIRE and made entirely by using fire and smoke, make a reservation at Bekal. You will get a dining experience that’s extraordinary and unforgettable. Foodie or not, you will appreciate the culinary vision served in front of you.

Martićeva Street

On Martićeva Street, you’ll find a diverse array of independent boutiques, art studios, cafes, and specialty shops that offer a refreshing break from the typical city scene. The best thing about Martićeva is that it’s constantly evolving. New street art pops up, fresh businesses open their doors, and the energy of the place is always changing. It’s a dynamic neighborhood that keeps you coming back for more.

Cogito Coffee Shop

At Cogito, they take their coffee seriously, and it shows. The ambience is cozy and inviting, making it a perfect place to read a book, work on your laptop, or enjoy a quiet moment. There are four locations around Zagreb, and whichever you choose, you can’t go wrong. My personal favourite is one in Ul. Jurja Žerjavića 7, which is also called ‘In The Yard’.

Dolac

Walking into Dolac Market is like entering a new world of colors, flavors, and lively chatter. It’s a bustling, open-air market situated in the heart of Zagreb, and it’s where you’ll find the freshest produce, local delicacies, and an authentic taste of Croatian cuisine.

Krolo (Radićeva ulica)

This is one of my favourite bars because it stayed true to its origins, which go way back to the 80s. Oldschool interior decor, a diverse crowd and greatwaiters make it the best place to have the ultimate Zagreb experience.
