Happy New Year from Europavox!

It’s a new year, and we’d like to take this opportunity to wish you all the very best for 2024, a year of encounters, sharing, solidarity, happiness and music!

For Europavox, this year will once again be rich in events, but it will also mark an important milestone: the end of another four-year cycle of development for the Europavox Project, our cooperation project supported by the Creative Europe programme.

After four years of discoveries and passion for this project dedicated to Europe’s developing music scene, it is time for us to review what we have done so far. Since 2020, Europavox has undertaken four years of European musical discoveries (340 artists from 40 countries singing in 33 languages), 16 festivals gathering more than 100,000 festival-goers, and a website, on which a pan-European team of journalists has shared playlists ranging from metal to neo-classical, written a series of articles on sustainability and music, and conducted interviews all over Europe.

We also interviewed the artists we’ve supported over the years, as well as members of the Europavox family, from project partners to journalists. It’s a varied, determined and joyful cross-section of those who make up the European music scene. This gallery of portraits will be appearing on our website in the coming weeks: stay tuned!

And of course, our support for Europe’s new music scene doesn’t stop here! Our website will of course continue to bring you the latest news, and Europavox 2024’s events calendar is already full: see you at our next festivals (Brussels in February, Bologna in March, Bucharest in April, Vilnius in May, Clermont-Ferrand in June) as well as for Europe Day, Saturday the 4th of May, on Paris’ Parvis de l’Hôtel de Ville (France), where there will always be more bands to discover, new music genres to approach, new languages to learn.

We also look forward to seeing you at the second edition of Europavox Campus, our music springboard for students, supported by Erasmus+ and in partnership with four European universities (Université Clermont-Auvergne in France, Western Norway University of Applied Science (HVL) in Norway, OTH Regensburg in Germany and Ovidius University of Constanța in Romania). Europavox Campus is expanding even further this year: we are delighted to welcome a new partner, MakeSense, to strengthen the project’s civic approach. Indeed, on top of an outstanding evening of music on April 18 in Bergen, Norway, during which the four finalists will perform, 60 young Europeans will gather around an extensive cultural and civic program for an entire week.

Finally, the last week of November will see the launch of a new project supported by the Institut Français as part of the Lithuanian Season in France! On the menu: a three-date tour with Lithuanian artists, of course, but also emerging French artists and other round tables to discuss inclusion and gender equity.

As always, we’ll carry the same desire during this European election year of 2024: bring to light the best music from all corners of the continent. Because gathering around an amazing show or a great album is, in fact, a passionate and curious way to pinpoint where European culture’s beauty can be found. Both in its diversity and its harmony.
