Simone Benussi, alias Mace, has always been a generous artist, eager to share the spotlight with collaborators. That won’t change now that his third album is fast approaching: to tease his new release, the Italian producer, at ease with both hip-hop and electronic music, has shared a new link up. ‘Non Mi Riconosco’ not only invites the legendary rapper Salmo, with whom Mace worked in 2021 on his debut album, but the track also reveals a new name from the Milanese scene: centomilacarie. The three Italian artists have created a poignant song delving into themes of internal struggles and loss of bearings (the chorus repeats the line ‘E adesso non mi riconosco’, which translates ‘And now I don’t recognize myself’), surprisingly enriched with pop-rock guitars. As for the music video directed by Ludovico di Martino, it features what looks like child soldiers and desolate factories. When collaboration rhymes with deepness and trueness.
