Swiss hip-hop newcomer Priya Ragu rocketed to the top in 2020, and she was just starting! On the third of September, she finally released her debut mixtape: ‘damnshestamil’. To fuel the excitement surrounding it, she dropped an incredible song: ‘Lockdown’.
Accompanied by a music video directed by Dumas Haddad, they delivered a powerful allegory of the inner struggles the last lockdowns brought upon us. “‘Lockdown’ was written earlier this year during a time where I felt particularly isolated from the people I love. It’s about dealing with being alone in this situation and wanting to feel the energy of another person’s presence, not for love but for friendship, guidance and getting down.” Priya explains.
