Did you really think it was over? Never underestimate Europavox Brussels: on top of last week’s first announcement, Europavox Festival’s Belgian leg is confirming eight more names today! Eight new reasons to rush to the capital of Europe on February 8 and 9 now that the line-up is completed.
Europavox Festival is coming back to Brussels for a two-day event on the 8th and 9th of February at Le Botanique! The festival promises to showcase the best new artists from Europe across a wide range of genres. The first day will focus on all things indie, with Belgium’s very own singer-songwriter Porcelain Id performing along with the French, queer, techno and punk collective Akira & Le Sabbat, with Nathalie Froehlich’s Swiss techno-rap to finish off the night. Of course, you already know this, but they’ll join Dutch psychedelic funk band Yīn Yīn headlining, Chevalier Surprise‘s Belgian rock, Melenas bringing in their catchy garage rock from Spain, and a more intimate vibe in the Rotonde, courtesy of JFDR (Iceland) and Lucy Kruger & The Lost Boys (Germany).

The second day is dedicated to pop, r’n’b, and hip-hop. Expect shapeshifting new sounds from Yamê (France) and Ona Mafalda (Spain), Finnish futuristic dream pop with Pearly Drops and Maripo$a‘s raw Italian and Colombian energy. New additions to the line-up include Bulgarian Cartrader, a pop singer-songwriter heading from Bulgaria (as the name suggests) and now located in Germany, and a big hit last summer when he played Europavox Festival Clermont-Ferrand. It doesn’t stop there: Le Botanique is inviting the young French rapper IPNDEGO, Martha Da’Ro who will be presenting her Belgian r’n’b, funk and rap debut album ‘Philophobia’, and Unblock Project, an electronic and hip-hop creation uniting three musicians, five dancers, two video makers and a light and scenography creator around the choreographer Etienne Rochefort’s work.

The most attentive among you may have noticed something in this four-stars list of names: this year, Europavox Brussels invited the De Concert! federation onto its line-up. De Concert, a network composed of 28 international independent festivals working in harmony and sharing their latest musical discoveries, recommended Akira & Le Sabbat (pushed by Bars en Trans), Nathalie Froehlich (by Paléo), IPNDEGO (by Les 3 éléphants), Yamê (by Panoramas), Bulgarian Cartrader (by Europavox), Martha Da’Ro (by Nuits Botanique) and Unblock Project (by Eurockéennes). Those people did most of the work for you, hunting down European’s best music: you can come with your eyes closed… Keep your ears open tho’!
