South Music Faro, showcasing emerging talents from the Portuguese Algarve

On the 15th and 16th of June 2021, Faro, candidate city for European Capital of Culture 2027, became the Capital of Music in Portugal, carrying out the first edition of South Music. The initiative brought together musicians from the stunning Algarve region and professionals from the music industry in Faro.

In addition to the central objectives of South Music, Faro2027 also presented the Geração Cápsula initiative, which seeks to reach young talent aged 14 to 18, through a curation process that will further allow the launch of a new generation of musicians from Faro and Algarve.

With concerts of more than 35 acts that took place mostly in outdoor stages around the picturesque city of Faro, with all safety precautions taken, the event stimulated dialogue between local musicians and professionals in the music sector, while providing artists with practical tools that complement their talent and help them achieve the visibility necessary for integration into the national and European musical circuit.
