The Big Rip hypothesis is anything but funny: it argues that the universe will be torn apart if it keeps on expanding. That would create new galaxies, yes, but wipe us out in the process. In contrast to this bleak theory, Greek multi-instrumentalist, singer, and producer Theodore opted for an optimistic approach, choosing to be resilient when life itself seems to collapse; to smile when all goes south. Detecting the subtle irony and sense of humour of the lyrics, director Kostis Theodosopoulos imagined a playful and surreal funeral, soon transformed into a wedding while Theodore himself plays the accordion. The track, perhaps Theodore’s most pop-oriented song yet, is naturally released on his own label United We Fly.
