Today, Hungary is celebrating one of its three national holidays, Forradalom ünnepe (in English : ‘Revolution Day’), commemorating the Revolution of the 23rd of October 1956 against the communist regime, and the proclamation of the Hungarian Republic on the 23rd of October 1989. Expect events throughout the country, including exhibitions and speeches that honor the Hungarian people and their culture. Let’s join the festivities with some Hungarian music ! Featuring pop music, psych-folk, rock, house and even some doom metal to finish on a high (and strong) note, this playlist gives pride of place to Hungarian lyrics, with Carson Coma, Azahriah, OHNODY, Analog Balaton, Platon Karataev and Ricsárdgír singing in their mother tongue. Enjoy, or as they say in Budapest, Debrecen or Szeged: ‘Jó hallgatást’!
