Hannes Cistota

WUK / Austria (Vienna)
“ Keep on rockin in a free world ”
Hannes was born in the 60s when Neil Young released his first solo record. Before working at WUK in Vienna, he studied Psychology. He is responsible for the music programming at WUK which includes live concerts, events and clubbings. What he loves about his 550 capacity venue is that it has the vibe of a small club. You can see bands from all kinds of genres in an intimate atmosphere. The musical spectrum ranges from indie and alternative pop-rock to hip hop, world, house and electro. Ever since it opened in the early 80s, countless gigs from international artists have taken place at WUK, including shows from Low, Lambchop, The White Stripes, Melvins, The Streets, Einstürzende Neubauten and The Cinematic Orchestra. What’s most important for Hannes is the love for music and people. The joy of discovering new bands. And the fun of artistic exploration.
