An intense and deep electronic exploration

" An extremely refined and incredibly coherent take on contemporary electronic music "

Electronic music, apart from its dance-like nature, can be an invitation to journey into yourself. You can feel relaxed when you fall into a dance trance. The brotherly duo Bratři proves that strong, electronic sounds are able to take us from the dance floor to any place we dream about.

Jiří and Ondřej Veselý combine their passion for analog and modular synthesizers with a fascination with classical instruments, including percussion. The result is a danceable and intense sound on the one hand, and a deep and reflective style on the other.

First EP ‘Monster’ appeared in 2017, and a shortly afterwards the duo found themselves in demand at well-known festivals around Europe, including Colors Of Ostrava, Rock For People, MENT, and Eurosonic. The Czech musicians also had the opportunity to play on the same stage as electronic stars like Jan Blomqvist and Jon Hopkins.

Their sound mixes elements of many genres of electronic music – dark and melodic techno, ambient, and idm. However, Bratři’s vision is not repetitive, generic club music. It is an extensive and engaging story that surprises with many layers, skillfully building tension. The energy hidden under the enormity of sounds is released gradually. It does not overwhelm, on the contrary. Bratři are able to dose emotions, so listeners can focus on details and then let the music absorb them.

In 2021, Bratři presented their debut album entitled ‘Two Minds’. The record is the excellent essence of the brothers’ work so far, serving up extremely refined and incredibly coherent contemporary electronic music. ‘Two Minds’ echoes the music of the aforementioned Jon Hopkins, Jan Blomqvist, or HVOB. With their full-length debut, Bratři suggested, gently,  that they deserve to be mentioned alongside these artists.
