" Blurred lines between indie pop, modern r&b and eerie electro. "

For a band that could laconically be described as “minimal”, Sworr. pack a huge amount of emotion into their stripped-down music. The trio from Patra city, Greece, blur the line between indie-pop, contemporary R&B and eerie electro in nuanced songs that are as sleek as they are strangely inviting. And that’s the ideal, stark backdrop for the way Thanasis Q’s guitar and John Tsalla’s keyboards and beats build thick tension over Robin K’s nebulous vocals.

Their self-titled debut album was released in 2018, via Fair Weather Friends Recordings, showcasing dubby bass lines, reverb-heavy guitars and clever beats, while the Chet Faker-like vocals add even more depth and an almost noir aura throughout the album.

The band’s next release is expected to be out via United We Fly, at the end of spring 2022. In the meantime, Sworr. have released a two-track single, (‘Slow’and ‘Tryin’) full of hypnotic grooves and dark electronic soul, followed by ‘Down To L’, a subtle alt-pop ode about the importance of accepting yourself.

Sworr. are clearly inspired by the potential for growth during tumultuous times like now. The band is already known for crafting atmospheric electronic productions, and this time again, wield an effortless combination of electronic and organic pop and trip-hop beats, assembling cathartic moods in an eerie dub-like sonic way. In all of their tracks, Sworr. continue to challenge themselves and their audience, and their latest fascinating mix of lo-fi power and atmosphere, makes anticipation for their upcoming album grow stronger.
