Botanique and Europavox are once again teaming up to bring you the brightest new acts from across the continent! Mark your schedule: the Brussels venue will welcome some of the best European artists on the 8th and 9th of February 2024. The full line-up of this two-days festival will be unveiled later this month, but in the meantime, here are some names to whet your music lover appetite: YĪN YĪN, a psychedelic Dutch quartet passionately inspired by Southern and Southeast Asian music ; JFDR, a diligent dreamy folk crafter from Iceland ; Melenas, the most krautrock and German-ish gang in Pamplona ; Chevalier Surprise, a Belgian band using rock music as a way to address how their mentally disabled members are ostracised by society ; Lucy Kruger & The Lost Boys, Nick Cave’s long lost daughter from South Africa, a theatrical live shows empress now based in Berlin… And that’s only what we have planned for the first day!
On the 9th, some lucky Brusselers will get to see Yamê, the new French sensation blending r’n’b, hip-hop and jazz, as well as Ona Mafalda and her delicate and beautifully arranged Spanish electronic ballads, Pearly Drops, a duo giving pop a Finnish shot in the arm, and Mariposa, a self-taught young artist from Italy and Columbia, based in the Netherlands and redefining what Latin rap looks like today.
It’s crazy to think that this is not over, as more exciting names are going to enrich this European selection. But it will happen, so keep your eyes – and ears! – open and remember these dates: on the 8th and 9th of February 2024, Europe’s next big things will be at Le Botanique.
