A multitasking prodigy shaking up the French scene
She is a singer, circus acrobat, songwriter, dancer, musician, actress… She seems to be exceptionally gifted in any art form she tries. Aloïse Sauvage, 26, is an untypical newcomer: she doesn’t fit into one category. Before the release of her first EP next March, let’s get introduced to one of the most interesting newcomer of the French scene.
After her studies, this young woman from the Seine-et-Marne department, in the Paris suburbs, decided to embark on an unusual path: contemporary circus, one of her many passions. She studied at the Fratellini academy, specializing in acro dance, a fusion of acrobatics and dance. After her degree, she started performing at shows and, at the same time, she had her first experiences as an actress both for cinema and TV films, including the award-winning film “120 battements par minute”. More recently, she had an important part in the French thriller Les Fauves, alongside Lily-Rose Depp.
For many artists, these two careers would be more than enough, but Aloïse Sauvage has an impressive willpower and she has also managed to become one of the most fascinating new musicians in France. As a child, she already excelled at poetry slam and played many different instruments (drums, saxophone, flute). As an adult, she has become a singer-songwriter. Mixing hip-hop with the traditional ‘chanson française’ style, “Ailleurs Higher”, “Hiver brûlant”, or “Aphone” being some the great songs that she has written so far. Last December, she was asked by the prestigious Trans Musicales festival to create a special show – a recognition of her skills and an amazing success that promises us so much more.
