Lively dream-pop

" Bright, uplifting songs, both organic and synthetic "

It’s already been ten years since Isaac Delusion released their debut album. They have made solid progress since, consolidated their career not only with four records under their belts (‘Rust & Gold’, ‘Uplifters’, a self-titled album, and the brand new ‘Lost and Found’), but also with a lot of tours of France, and abroad. Their dream-pop sensibilities are still clear today, as well as their passion for acoustic instruments, mixed with bold use of machines to create a fascinating sound, organic and synthetic at the same time.

The band has changed over time: out of the two sonic wizards from Paris who started Isaac Delusion, singer/guitarist Loïc Fleury is now the only mastermind behind the project, still singing in English with his gentle, androgynous voice (reminiscent of Anohni and Jimmy Somerville). The other half of the duo, keyboardist Jules Pacotte, has turned to a more technical side of music, while remaining a good friend and a frequent collaborator.

In 2020, Loïc Fleury left Paris for coastal Brittany where he found inspiration in a fisherman’s house located on a small rocky island – the very house which appears, drawn in unreal colours, on the cover of ‘Lost and Found’, Isaac Delusion’s fourth album.

Despite his new solitary approach, Loïc Fleury continues to invite other musicians into his galaxy: the young and promising French producer LUCASV collaborated on six tracks, for example. The Dø’s Olivia Merilahti is featured on ‘All Day’, and his companion Jules Pacotte co-wrote ‘Valse’ and ‘Que Pour Toi’. Released in January 2024, the record delves into the soundscapes they have always liked, while still feeling like a reinvention. A wonderful delusion which has been bewitching us for a decade: the more the merrier!
