" An electronic producer with a punk rock attitude "

Xinobi (aka Bruno Cardoso) started his musical journey through punk rock, spending his time listening to cassettes by The Ramones and Bad Religion. But electronic music was always a part of his life, too. In the late 80’s, he installed rudimental software on his bedroom computer to start playing with digital sounds. He started producing at the same time as he learnt how to play guitar. Cardoso released two albums with a band, but at the same time he was putting tracks on MySpace, and people gave him positive feedback, so he went to showcase his music while DJing around the country. In 2007, his dreams got bigger, and alongside his first solo release (‘Day Off’), he also founded a record label (Discotexas) with his friend and producer Moullinex (aka Luis Clara Gomes).

In 2014 his first solo album ‘1975’ was released, a collection of tracks he worked on over several years like ‘Bogota’, ‘Mom and Dad’ or ‘Real Fake’. In 2017, his second album ‘On The Quiet’ joined it, and it featured several moods.  Resident Advisor wrote of the record: “… the soundtrack to a day chilling with the Miami palm trees or wandering the cold streets of Berlin at night”. Meanwhile, he recorded a soundtrack for a TV series called ‘Luz Vermelha’, edited a new EP (‘Morangos’) and collaborated with and remixed other artists.

His third album, ‘Balsame’, is set for release on April 8th, 2022. In it, he travels through new paths, exploring Latin grooves with ‘La Tormenta’ and also fado, traditional Portuguese music, in ‘Amor Cego’. While exploring new music journeys, he maintains the source code for his music, with sounds that can take you to the dancefloor, and at the same time feel like being at home chilling with your friends.
