Pomme was still underage when she started playing in various bars in Lyon, a high-school student  self-producing her first songs. This early progress helps explain why now, aged just 27, she has already released four albums. The days when she was the most extraordinary up-and-coming prodigy of the French music scene are long gone and her career has now a true sense of permanence.

Interestingly, her breakthrough was not her debut album, ‘A peu près’ (2017), but her second, ‘les failles’ (2019), with which she twice won the Victoires de la musique (a significant music awards ceremony in France): best album by a newcomer, and, the following year, best female artist. This well-deserved recognition for a multitalented artist: an outstanding multi-instrumentalist (guitar, autoharp, cello, double bass, piano, omnichord…), a delicate singer (halfway between Joan Baez and Billie Eilish) and an impressive songwriter who is asserting herself more with each new record.

After the success of ‘les failles’, Pomme unveiled her third album in 2022, ‘consolation’, a record co-produced by the French mastermind Flavien Berger, who went on collaborating with her and Aaron Dessner (The National) on ‘Saisons’, her brand new album following the season.  The first installment, titled ‘Automne-Hiver’ (released in December 2023) will be followed by a second, ‘Printemps-Eté’, in March 2024. Pomme has recently showcased her talents as an actress in the French film ‘La Vénus d’Argent’, playing the female lead under her real name, Claire Pommet, with the same captivating charisma she displays when she’s playing music on stage. A superstar in the making.
