It’s still with a little bit of sand in our shoes that we tackled this back-to-school season!
And what better way to return to work with a sense of joy than a selection of fresh new music in your ears, selected with the complicity of our partners from the Botanique (Brussels) ? From the Band of The Month Melenas, four Spanish women creating direct and passionate indie-pop anthems with loads of synths, to the explosive rock act Chalk, this selection will definitely help you survive to the first rainy days of fall.
You’ll also discover the irresistible kuduro and kizomba-inspired club music of Bateu Matou’s three Portuguese drummers, the colorful blend of funk, disco and East Asian sixties and seventies music from Dutch band Yīn Yīn, the psychedelic krautrock project MEULE (formed by two drummers and a modular synth player) or the heroic guitar solos from The smallest Creature. Last, but not least, prepare yourself for indie-pop hits from Cupid Girl, the intense spoken-word, electronic litanies of Glauque, Iva Sativa’s folk infused hip-hop, and LAYLA alternative r’n’b, soul and rap. If all that doesn’t work, sorry, we don’t know what will!
Glauque
“ Post-industrial, ultra-aware songs enhanced with rap and electro. ”
LAYLA
“ If Solange, TLC and Tyler, The Creator, merged into a German powerhouse superstar ”
Yīn Yīn
“ A trippy, retro, intergalactic ride through world grooves ”
