Friendly Europavox autumn advice : pour yourself a good tea, put on some fuzzy socks and chill while listening to Svaneborg Kardyb, our band of the month ! Selected as usual by the seven artistic directors and partners of the project, this Danish duo softly combines scandinavian jazz and danish folk music influences, with a pinch of electronic grooves. A warm and luminous blend that especially comes to life when played live, where one can clearly see the connection between longtime friends Nikolaj Svaneborg (synths) and Jonas Kardyb (drums).
But to fight off fall gloominess, there is plenty of other solutions in our top 10 of acts scattered all around Europe, from the folk beauty directly imported from Iceland of Júníus Meyvant to the new soul composed between Brazil and Norway of Charlotte dos Santos, or the guitars of both Swedish band Hater and Belgian heroes The Haunted Youth. Heading South, let’s not forget to party with the dancefloor-oriented electronic music of Italian duo Glowal or the electro-clash and EBM revival by Dame Area from Spain. To complete this oh-so-eclectic November selection, let’s also listen to the Beatle-influenced pop of Croatian treasure Paul The Walrus, the Polish pop of KIWI and the electronic music of Monvol from Latvia. Good music : the best remedy against bad weather.
