2018, the first year in which we were objectively not surprised by any bad news that blew up in our faces. The low expectations have actually delighted us, and showed how we were dying to dance in front of a smartphone for any hashtag challenge that pop stars could throw at us. Sure the tops have never been so filled with depressing lyrics, but at the same time it shows how we all understand the same principle: if it is really this bad, can’t we just dance while we sort everything out?
Europavox kept close to its mission, even while unsure as to when we will lose one of our favorite musical countries. Going up and down the Old Continent has brought us incredible discoveries this year: the sheer strength and vision of San Esteban de Sasroviras-bred Rosalía to the multi-plurality of Superorganism. 2018 has been the year in which European artists have been steadily transcending their inspirations and bringing us new sounds that delighted our souls and made us fans. So, pick a country, pick a genre, or just let it all go and press play. After dancing our hearts away, our team will be getting ready to uncover what 2019 holds for us all.
