This is our motto and our wish for 2023. After so many events in 2022 (at last!) – a few events that have now become customary: our media europavox.com, our seven European festivals, La Journée de l’Europe in Paris…; and some great projects that have begun: the Europavox Sessions with ARTE, La Tournée Océane as part of the France-Portugal season – we’re not going to rest on our laurels now!
We’ve got some great people sharing the journey with us, because Europavox is, first and foremost, a project based on sharing and teamwork. A close-knit team working alongside an editorial board of 20 European journalists (a thousand ideas a second providing us with the best stories: “let’s talk about the Irish clubbing scene? An article on trap music made by women in Italy?”, and an artistic committee that watches the entire continent like hawks to spot the next gem in Croatian pop or the Portuguese hip-hop revelation (ah, if only you could hear them talk, with such passion, about the groups they go into bat for during the curation meetings!)… But around these professionals are media organisations, institutions and organisations who renew their confidence in us every year and help us put on both digital and live events that are unique and festive.
And the artists, of course! Emilie Zoé, Mischa Blanos, shishi, freekind., Theodore and so many more: we were blown away by their live performances in 2022. So, who will take over from them in 2023? With their help, we will take you on a trip, from Brussels to Vienna, via Bucharest, Vilnius, Bologna, Clermont-Ferrand and Zagreb, during our seven Europavox festivals. They will also be at the heart of our media, so you can listen to their latest tracks, and you can get to know them better thanks to our articles and interviews.
We will also give some great future artists, who are currently to be found in university lecture halls, a chance to shine during our first European students’ musical springboard, Europavox Campus. With our four partner universities, the main aims will be dialogue and, once again, teamwork: teaching staff and students, from all disciplines, will be giving their backing to the artists to help and support them in their bid to reach the European final in Clermont-Ferrand, a great opportunity for exchange between the delegations from each university.
In 2023, we will continue to support Ukraine and its artists, such as FO SHO and GO_A, as we always have done; we are sure that music brings people together and can be an instrument for peace.
Essentially, in 2023 we will continue to defend our own values, and share our favourite artists, ever higher and ever further, with you!
